D.T.S.M. Driving Schools is a family-run driving school serving Ottawa and the surrounding areas since 1981. It specialises in offering Ministry of Transportation-approved driver education programmes. They are also one of the first driving schools to provide a platform for driver education to be accessible online compared to the standard format of driver’s education taught in classrooms. The D.T.S.M. team has taught tens of thousands of individuals over the last 40 years helping them to achieve their driver’s license.
The judges were impressed by the driving school for making the driver education programmes accessible to all, regardless of the access they have to an educational institute, and for creating a supportive learning environment for newly licensed drivers. Not only does it enable aspiring drivers to understand the theory of driving to an impeccable standard, but it also emphasises the practical importance of safely operating a vehicle for a successful driving career. Judge Andrew Walsh commented: “Not only does D.T.S.M. ensure students feel confident and supported with expert quality training along with the guidance and support of the D.T.S.M. team, the individual instructors do their best to provide an enjoyable learning environment. This results in a school where learners are fully engaged and often pass their G2 on the very first try.
