CARDIFF THIRD SECTOR COUNCIL WINS VOLUNTARY WORK ADVISORS OF THE YEAR

The Cardiff Volunteer Centre @C3SC (Cardiff Third Sector Council) is the County Voluntary Council (CVC) for Cardiff. Working with the Welsh Government and Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW), the team supports and develops the volunteering infrastructure, helps individuals and groups to set up, make themselves sustainable to meet the needs of their communities, secure funding, working to improve their governance, participation and engagement. They provide a wealth of free training, one-to one specialist support, access to facilities, consultants and trainers, and vital networking opportunities; with free entry into their Membership Directory of over 1,200 members. Last year, the team helped organisations to secure more than £1 million in funding.

The judges praised C3SC for nurturing the development of a strong, diverse and vibrant Voluntary Sector in Wales’ capital. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, C3SC was the first CVC in Wales to mobilise a strong volunteer-force to assist the NHS deliveries of medicines and prescriptions as well as food parcels to communities across Cardiff. Ebed, Manager of the CVC, said: ‘’We would like to thank the 3,300+ volunteers who freely gave their time and financial resources. This award is for all of you. Diolch yn fawr iawn!’
