Winner in the Stockholm Prestige Awards 2020
Tallbergs Förlag AB is a Swedish and English language publishing house dedicated to increasing representation for minority groups. Founded two years ago, the company has already published 28 books, and produced a documentary about mothers of transgender children. Its ‘rainbow media’ promotes LGBTQ+, ethnicity, religious, class and gender inclusivity through lectures and workshops.
The judges commend Tallbergs Förlag AB for its commitment to giving marginalised groups a voice. The company recognises the importance of feeling comfortable in one’s identity for both adults and children who may need support. This year, the company will publish instructive books for relatives of LGBTQ+ children, and will fight for equality in schools and workplaces. It is also creating a music project with refugees.
